501 Great Games - import fail

Hi @Cynde_Moya! Your instance was running out of storage, it has been increased now accordingly. Could you try to upload again and report?

Hi Oleg

We were able to import a large 3.5G file after your storage increase.

HOWEVER, since then, and perhaps it is unrelated, but my MacOS9.0.4 - BASE environment works, but when I combine it with a content object and try to save, I get the disk with a question mark (?). Before trying to save the Base + Content pair, the environment works as normal. The problem comes when trying to save a revision then re-open this configured environment.

I can build new a MacOS9.0.4 BASE environment from scratch, save it, and it runs. But it still won’t save as a revision with a content object attached. Instead giving the disk + question mark.

Thank you
Cynde

@Cynde_Moya, I’ve not been able to replicate the behavior you’re describing with the Mac OS 9.0.4 base environment (“Apple Mac OS 9”) in hosted.eaasi.cloud or elsewhere. I believe this is the error SheepShaver gives when it can’t find a bootable operating system, and the fact that it only happens when attempting to run with a Content object attached means SheepShaver must be attempting to boot from the Content object and then not falling back to the environment’s main disk/image for some reason…

Two questions: 1) what specific Emulation Version does the “Mac OS 9.0.4 - BASE” environment use, and 2) what does the Configured Drives section look like?

Hi Ethan

This symptom turned out to be part of a larger problem, possibly with the database becoming out of sync. Oleg and Rafael manually fixed the metadata, added it to the fix queue, and will write it up in more detail. They said that they had not encountered this problem before.

Thanks for having a look.
