Draft poster for SAA 2021

Greetings @us-hosted participants! Just a quick note to share the draft I have created for our poster at the virtual SAA ARCHIVES*RECORDS conference later this summer - since it summarizes our “initial findings” from the pilot thus far, I wanted to put it in front of you all for any thoughts or feedback before submitting.

The conclusions and data presented are mostly from the qualitative exercises that you all completed over the spring, but there are a couple of very very early statistics from the hosted service’s Google Cloud deployment as well. Those numbers will get much more meaningful the longer testing and use goes on this year, but I am very excited/interested to see that we already hit 300 unique emulation sessions run across the entire service in less than a month! Keep it up!

hey Ethan! I really love the aesthetics of the poster. I two minor things I wanted to point out:

  • reproducibility is a use case for emulation  just putting it out there!
  • In "emulation cannot be siloed, the only bullet point not related to some service is “data curators” – for consistency, you might want to change to “data services”

Great work on this again!

thanks for the feedback/catch Vicky! There are so many use cases to bring up and I was fighting space here, I didn’t/don’t mean to exclude anyone’s - but “reproducibility” is absolutely a key word/message to bring up that’s missing here and that would hopefully immediately resonate with a lot of folks. I’ve added “data reproducibility” to that first section!
