Good morning all,
At last week’s monthly node call, we tabled demonstration and discussion of Yale’s soon-to-be-released “emulation-view” service - our instance of EaaSI connected with the YUL catalog that enables us to offer emulations of general collections media (CD-ROMs, floppies) to authenticated patrons. Since we want to talk a bit about the collective effort that it took to get this service going - the environment/EaaSI configuration, but also coordination with IT, access services, etc - there was a request that we confirm this discussion with ample time to invite attendees from the nodes who might be interested in seeing this service but who aren’t among our usual monthly suspects.
So - this is just to say that we’ve confirmed that the January 5 call (1pm ET / 12 pm CT / 10am PT) will be largely dedicated to this discussion! I’ll adjust the agenda to be more friendly to newcomers - we’ll keep the usual check-in round-robin and introductions to the Zoom chat and get into the “emulation-view” demo as quickly as possible, and leave any other project updates to the end of the call.
As a reminder, this is our regular Zoom link - please feel free to forward/share the details to whoever you think would be interested, or let us know the details for someone you’d like added to the calendar invite:
