Notes from Cornell, Use Case Testing

I’ve got a small group of testers with distinct use cases at Cornell, and I am starting this thread to aggregate some of their comments and questions. (I’ll post any bugs we find in the appropriate channel; and we know about the known issues; this will be for general comments, thoughts, and suggestions.)

  • For the feature, “make this available to all users of my node” I’m personally a little unclear on who specifically that is shared with.
  • Perhaps related, when I look at the “Running Tasks” under “Manage Node” I see a lot of activity that I don’t recognize from the Cornell tester group. What activity is that from?
  • It would be super great if we could have the option to collapse the left side panel – some of us are having trouble with seeing the whole screen unless we remember to use our large external monitors.
  • It might be helpful to have the upload resources page auto-detect if you’re uploading an ISO image and pre-select Disk Image as the appropriate format. (A few of us have accidentally uploaded these as files, oops!)
  • It might be helpful to disable the “Save Environment” button until an environment is completely shut down (if it is an environment that needs to be shut down before saving).
  • Year of release might be helpful to include in the metadata for the operating system.

Hi Dianne,

Thrilled to see this feedback. We will be sure to incorporate these notes in future planning.

Best,

Seth
