As we put out in the last SPN Bytes, Notch8’s hosted deployment of EAASI is live and ready for users at U.S.-based SPN member organizations.
(If you’re at a U.S. SPN organization and ready to use EAASI but haven’t yet filled out the point-of-contact form to receive login credentials, you can still do that here!)
I will be hosting a little 2-hour training session/mini-workshop on Tuesday, August 26, from 1-3pm Eastern Time / 12-2 Central / 11-1 Mountain / 10-12 Pacific. This session will be an overview of the features and resources available in the v2021.10 version of EAASI, with a particular eye toward SPN users on Notch8’s U.S.-based server, and will be recorded and made available to SPN members afterwards.
(Colleagues in Canada and Australasia are welcome to join or tune in if you would like to get a closer look at the platform’s current features, limitations, and usage among U.S. members - please just be aware this training will be aimed at some concerns unique to the U.S. user base and Notch8’s server, which will likely differ somewhat from workflows and EAASI use on the AusEAASI deployment hosted by AARNet!)
We will:
- demonstrate basic EAASI concepts
- install an emulated operating system together
- do some activities to assist with common software configuration choices
- discuss strategies for documenting emulation environments
- go over individualized help with your EAASI use cases
- leave time for open Q&A
