REMINDER: February 2022 Monthly Node Call

Hello @eaasi-alliance @spn_pilot!

This is a friendly reminder about our February EaaSI monthly call tomorrow at 4pm Eastern Time / 3pm Central Time / 1pm Pacific. We will try out a new, slightly more open-ended structure with more time for discussion of use cases and Q&A on program status. Please find updates from the EaaSI team below, and if you have questions, please come to the call tomorrow and we can elaborate (or post your questions here if you can not attend!)

If you are willing or want to spend 10-15 minutes talking about or showing one of your local use cases to the whole EaaSI community, please let me know.

Our running Zoom link, calendar invite, and running notes document can be found linked in this pinned post:

    • EaaSI Admins and Configuration Users could also potentially record mouse/keyboard inputs for tutorial or demonstration purposes of guiding patrons through unfamiliar software or content
  • Five new student Software Emulation Configuration workers hired at Yale
    • Welcome Andres, Claire C., Nicole, Nina, Lucia!
    • Claire (Fox) will be working closely with them to generate new environments and software metadata for import to Wikidata and driving UVI/automated interaction R&D
  • Progress on IMLS grant
    • Seth and Jessica submitted a preliminary proposal in the fall for a dedicated, extensive research project into UX + UI for emulation in academic/pedagogical use (building on e.g. Amelia Acker’s work in the FCoP project and the initial user testing we hope to perform with current nodes later this semester)
    • The preliminary proposal was approved and we have been invited to move to a full proposal. We will continue to update on progress through that competitive review process.
  • Congrats to our Australian colleagues!
