Sunsetting EaaSI Network Calls – See You Again in the EaaSI Research Alliance!

Greetings, @eaasi-alliance and @us-hosted community! As many of you who are also active in the Software Preservation Network (SPN) likely know, the EaaSI program team is currently working on next steps for an organizational collaboration with Educopia and SPN related to the EaaSI software and the international community of EaaSI software users. This collaboration emerged out of our sustainability planning for the future of EaaSI over the last year and was approved by a vote of SPN member organizations in June.

Within this collaboration, Yale will continue as headquarters of product management for the EaaSI software, led by Yale’s new (and now official!) Software Preservation and Emulation unit of @claireafox, @ethan.gates, and @wendy.hagenmaier. The international EaaSI user community will become known as the EaaSI Research Alliance, a program of SPN that will formally kick off in 2025.

We’ll be sharing more updates about the Alliance and EaaSI’s next chapter as planning continues over the next several months. Please stay tuned for additional communications (including about hosted.eaasi.cloud), and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions: eaasi@yale.edu.

The exciting transformation that is currently underway makes this a natural time to sunset the existing EaaSI Network Call series, and we are canceling the call originally planned for July. Thank you so much for all of the time, energy, and ideas you have brought to these calls over the last several years.

We look forward to seeing you again very soon in the context of EaaSI Research Alliance gatherings, meetings, and events in the near future!
